LETTER FROM JP CULLEY

Imagining the lives of our students as they grow into adulthood, I always keep close to this quote from Henry David Thoreau, “If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them.”

Holland Hall’s focus on academic excellence and preparing leaders for Tulsa’s evolving future invokes in us a strong sense of responsibility that extends well beyond our campus. What we hope for them, and what they hope for themselves, gives us context to do the hard work of ensuring the Holland Hall experience prepares them well for the challenges ahead. In that sense, we have a strong, public, and common purpose to our work. We try to build essential, sturdy foundations for our students as they grow into lives centered around a deep sense of social responsibility.

The Enhancing Our Common Ground Campaign offers us the challenge to heighten our growing sense of urgency and responsibility regarding how we can meet the future needs of leaders, even before the challenges are fully realized. This campaign is the largest comprehensive capital campaign in our school's history and will move us exponentially closer to the realization of building on the strengths of Holland Hall, while moving confidently toward new experiences essential to effective leadership in the 21st century.

As our work unfolds together, I look forward to broadening our community’s understanding of the deep and lasting impact this campaign will have on current and future students, and on our beloved school community. We hold a heavy responsibility in our hands with this endeavor and with the trust you have in us. Thank you for being a part of this. Your participation will have a lasting impact on generations to come.

In Community,
